Boom is based in the heart of Cardiff Bay, in the Gloworks, in a purpose built 5 storey production building directly opposite BBC Roath Lock Studios.
The Studios
We’re lucky enough to have all our facilities under 1 roof, which comprise of two separate studio spaces with a central broadcast gallery, designed with both live and pre-recorded productions in mind.
Studio 1
A 1100 sq. ft. multi-purpose HD studio
Studio 2
A 700 sq. ft. CSO Greenscreen studio
Both studios have connectivity for 4 camera channels and a lighting grid under full DMX control, and are supported by a duplex Satellite Comms System.
The Gallery has both satellite uplink and downlink capabilities, and all facilities are supported by ISDN and GSM systems.

Boom also has location equipment facilities – Zoom! Zoom has a selection of camera, sound and lighting equipment for hire, covering studio, PSC and Fixed Rig filming requirements.
Sharing our space at Gloworks are Gorilla – Wales’s largest post production house, specialising in broadcast media and film.
With over 60 Avid suites, Baselight Grading suite and Pro Tools dubbing studios with ADR/VO, they are leading the way with technology and have recently installed Wales’s first Dolby Vision HDR suite with Netflix IMF QC.
Their vast portfolio of work for clients includes sport, drama, factual and entertainment programmes for some of the UK’s biggest broadcasters.
